For almost 30 years, Urban Earth has been a trusted choice for both residential and commercial decorating throughout New Orleans… no matter the season! Our “float flower” concept took root during the “float house” phenomenon and blossomed out of our desire to find a more durable, sustainable, and unique option for decorating during what can be one of the most colorful and festive times of the year.
It was perfected after consulting with prop masters, float decorators, graphic designers, and other skilled craftsmen with years of experience in their fields.
We also used input from our Creative Team who work directly with our customers, in their homes and businesses, and know the aesthetic and quality expectations of not only our company, but also our clientele.

At Urban Earth… Size Matters!
Our designs are not one size fits all! Urban Earth clients live in mansions on St. Charles Ave., single shotguns in the Marigny, and everywhere in between. That is why scale is so important to us and why we work so hard to ensure that the décor our clients purchase fits their style, their space, and the season.
It is also the reason our online store focuses on Collections—designs that create a WOW moment, not just a single piece that may get lost. Not too big to overpower a narrow porch, but big enough to be noticed from the neutral ground!
For example, our Creole Cottage Collection is perfect for a Bywater shotgun or a Mid-City double. These flowers vary from 17” to 33” in diameter, but any design can be resized to perfectly fit your home or business.
A little about our specialized décor and services:
- Our original designs are digitized and printed on a ¼” polycarbonate product that is UV coated and weather resistant. Perfect for an outdoor setting that is wet and humid… just like New Orleans!
- These elements are made to last! With proper care and storage, you can expect to enjoy more than a couple of Carnival seasons with your designs and add on more as time goes on.
- Each element is designed, cut, molded, and decorated by hand in our production studio. No two designs are alike!
- Our Carnival Collections, which consist of several elements that create an overall focal, are intended to create big impact. No one will need a magnifying glass to find your house on the route!
- Individual elements of our most popular requests are available through our website and have a 7–14 day production time from purchase.
- Custom designs can be arranged after a quick conversation with a member of our Creative Team—just give us a call!
- All designs that are custom-created by our graphics team have a nominal design fee assessed based on the complexity of the request.
- Installation and removal of décor by our staff is available, or elements can have holes pre-drilled or hooks attached for self-hanging. DIY or delegate!

These high-quality architectural design pieces have been all the rage since the inception of the House Float last year at the height of the COVID outbreak. These large handmade format high-quality house float decor pieces are designed to fit your storefront, home, or office.
Don't be fooled by the imitations.
Our handmade pieces are a polyvinyl product with UV coatings that make this flower last for 36 - 60 months of continuous outdoor exposure in wet/humid climates like New Orleans. While many of the lesser quality, short-lived versions are made of paper mâché or cardboard, which deteriorate quickly in humid/wet climates.
